Pet Society: Cash Hungry?

I’m noticing that since I started playing, Pet Society has introduced a lot of items that can only be bought with the cash not the coins. At first it was like, ok no big deal, but EVERYTHING is starting to become about the cash.  Like all the new running items? Not only are there new cash only running items, but there are new trophies for “pro races”. Its just silly.
Oh and we can’t forget the new nanny robot. While the robot itself is rather inexpensive, in order for it to actually be useable you have to use real money. Now I don’t know about you, but there is NO WAY I am going to spend my REAL money to support a robot that takes care of my pet. Especially since the pets can’t die.

What is everyone else’s opinions on this?

Playfish and EA?

i logged on the forums today and saw a message across the top informing me that Playfish has joined with EA.

Here is the link.

I would love to know people’s opinions on this.

Some people are worried Pet Society will be come a pay-only game, and no longer be free.
I know I for one won’t be paying to play Pet Society if that becomes the case.

Nov. 9 Premiere Night

Wow! I logged on as soon as the day changed and immediately went to the Mystery Shop where, AT LEAST, the Autumn faerie stuff finally was! I am right now buying eggs and hoping for the best with them!

Second thing I did was check out all the other new stuff. The theme seems to be “Premiere week”, but it sort of has more of a retro Hollywood feel..

All the clothes are from movies or celebrities, and there are a lot of really cute dresses. There is also a neat Elvis outfit.

In the food shop there is a 600 coin Premiere Cake and a cute little matching cupcake for 30c.

The DIY shop has a new Red Carpet floor and a Premiere Night wallpaper…which is pretty spendy. Also there is a Red Rope deco.

Gadget shop has a glow in the dark Pet Society sign that is actually pretty darn neat.

The Furniture shop has a few TWS items…a PS version of Marilyn Monroe poster, a black retro diner chair, a bouquet of roses w/ fan letter, and a grey deer (wtf? that is soo not ‘premiere night’). There are also some just arrived items..a pet award statue, a retro diner table along with a red retro diner chair, a very large glow in the dark film strip (which doesn’t feature your pets face unfortunately), and a chihuahua plushie that looks like the chihuahua from Legally Blonde.

Finally, in the luxury shop there is a 3,000c interactive, glow in the dark, film camera.

My overall reactions are good, the stuff is pretty neat looking and the theme is fun.
HOWEVER, overall the stuff is all rather spendy…the clothes aren’t TOO bad, but all the other stuff seems to be more costly than other updates in the past. What do you guys think?

Maintenance

Totally frustrating. I logged on hoping I could go do all my visits and wham! Go figure that RIGHT when I wake up its maintenance time. Oh well, time to check out the forums

New Bathroom

After I returned home from school, the day had “updated” on Pet Society so I logged on to visit all my friends and collect my lotto.

Well, as I was poking around Finlia’s house, I noticed that the toilet was gone from my washroom/dressing room….and the sink and shower basket were gone too. I was very confused.

It took me a few minutes to realize that I had moved some things around last night.  It must have been late because I don’t really remember doing so. Good news is, my pet has an official bathroom now, instead of a toilet put in the corner of her dressing room.  But in the process of doing that,  I got rid of my office. Now the upstairs fireplace room has a desk shoved in it.

I am a little disappointed though because yesterday when I logged on, I had about 8,000 more coins than I do now.

Where did all the coins go???? Honestly I am not really sure what I spent them all on.  I know that I got a new desk (the cute little black one) and the matching shelving unit from the luxury store (even though it doesn’t cost that much).  Oh, and I got a tub. Other then that I have absolutely no idea where 8,000 coins went. O_O

I’m also appalled that Finlia is level 25 and until last night still had no official bathroom, hehe!

The Mystery Behind the Blue Mystery Boxes

I have decided to start saving up my money instead of spending it every week because from all the chatter of Christmas last year on Pet Society, I definitely don’t want to miss out.

Well, the problem comes in because I had previously been opening lots of GMB’s and Ive found lots of things I like, but there are other things I want from those darned BMB’s.  I really dislike them.  You can never get what you want without going nearly bankrupt.

When the new items came out last week I was so excited to get the cute little tea pot and tea cup.  I haven’t gotten either yet.  That is what inspired me to run an experiment with Blue Mystery Boxes.

I bought a LOT of them all in groups of five. Here is the data I came up with:

Results:
If I resold every item on here, I would be at a loss of -2,905. Not too bad considering I spent 9,000 on BMB’s.
However, I did not sell everything back. I kept the Brushes Decor (333c), Shell Pot (999c), and the Kendi Pot(333c).
Uh oh. This puts me at a loss of -4,237.
That is a LOT for THREE items.

Conclusion:
Unless there is something you are DEPERATE for, don’t bother touching them. You will lose money. Its basically a guarantee.
If you really want that new tea cup like I do, honestly your best bet is the trading forums. It might cost 3×999′s (gasp!), but it saves you a lot of time and stress and junk items that you HAVE to resell if you don’t want to go bankrupt.

Alright, this is Finlia!

She loves spending time in her garden! She plants lots of trees and flowers!

Her favorite thing to do is eat sweets. I prefer her eating fruit and veggies from her garden, but she likes sweets the most

And lastly, she is very proud of her lovely little fish tanks…she has them in a couple of her rooms.

I hope that she makes lots of friends on this blog, and hope that plenty of people come to visit!
